SIRS Discoverer Activity | Exploring the Universe
World Space Week takes place every year from October 4-10. The start and end dates recognize the launch of the first Earth satellite, Sputnik 1, on Oct. 4, 1957; and the signing of the Outer Space Treaty on Oct. 10, 1967. Assign students to select a famous astronaut and produce a report or PowerPoint that cites two+ resources and addresses these space-savvy essential questions.
